Long live the Right to Creative Expression!

I was just reading today's newspaper and came across a few interesting stories...

The movie Jo Bole So Nihaal is mired in controversy in Punjab... I don't know the exact reasons, but one of the demands of the protestors is that "one who is not a baptized Sikh should not be allowed to play the role of a baptized Sikh." So we need 'original actors' here... Thankfully, there haven't been any demands to bring the real Netaji to play himself in the movie Bose: The Unforgotten Hero! Also, I heard that the Ramayana is being adapted for the silver screen... It would be rather difficult to convince Lord Rama to act in a Bollywood movie!

Another movie in the 'eye' of a storm is Naina. Apparently, it would affect eye-donation drives across the country. The film would cast an 'evil eye' on the campaign, for sure!

Going by the current rate of dissents against movies, the only movies that would survive are those family movies in which each person on earth is an angel, there is no evil or malevolence in the world, and everyone is as sweet as sugar. Well, we'll surely watch them, that is if we don't die of diabetes.

Till next time.

"Nuggets of Wisdom" by Haristotle:
I have often seen people getting confused between the words 'discrete' and 'discreet'. Here's a tip:

BINARY is discrete;
The BRAINY are discreet!

Words from the wise:
"If you are not more discreet in choosing your nuggets next time, we'll cut you up into discrete pieces and scatter them across the Pacific!"
